In 1992, Amanda Bossard began her studies in marine biology in Anchorage from Alaska Pacific University. Bossard's professional career started in 1999 when she was offered a position at the F/V Sunset. This 65 foot halibut vessel was converted to a salmon tender by Murat Ariatn. The couple has been fishing commercially for over 20 years. Bossard married Aritan in 1999. The couple have teamed up in fighting for their company. They're both supporters of conservatism and sustainable renewable resource management. In 2007, she became a mother of two young children Bella age three as well as Andre 1 Bossard and then relocating back to live in Philadelphia and opened an online direct market wholesale seafood distributor called Otolith. Her husband has a long history in the fish industry and often they are separated from each other for a period of five or more months. That's when they're focusing on their environmental and financial objectives. Bossard's children Isabella, age 12, and son Andre aged 10 visit each year each year to Southeast Alaska to work in the deckhand position throughout the salmon wild season.
